I have more sewing ideas in my head than in my closet or time to complete. But I don’t stop dreaming. Sewing is my obsession, meditation, and relaxation. I don’t profess to be an expert, but I enjoy it and what I make I like, so whose opinion counts more than that?
I’ve been sewing since I was a little girl, starting out on a toy Singer sewing machine at age five. (Coincidentally, my granddaughter got her first toy sewing machine from me this year at age five. Does it skip generations?) I took home economics in school in England starting at age 13 and my sewing took off from there. I sewed my entire summer wardrobe for a trip back to the States when I was 14, and sewed my summer uniforms for school.
I used to think I took a hiatus from sewing while raising my daughters, but that’s just faulty memory. I actually made my daughters plenty of clothes growing up - more so when they were small, though. There’s just something fulfilling and gratifying about being able to take raw fabric and put together something wearable.
I love sewing. I love creating anything.
This blog is mostly about my adventures in sewing, how I learn, how I grow, how I mess up. But it’s also about my views of life and people around me and my often not-so-humble opinions.
Glad you came to visit.
Warmly,
Little Miss Sew N Sew

Eric
Your post is very informative.
It is nice to read that
perfection is not always
the end of a project!
or is it? LOL!
Hi Claire
Thank you for my birthday message.
Love Susan
Hi Claire
It was so good to hear from one of my oldest friends - not oldest as in age! I mean in length of friendship - it must be at least 32 years now!! I had a good birthday with coffee with some friends in the morning and family time with the girls when they came home from school.
I promise to send you some photos and news soon. Its so busy at the moment with the build up to Christmas and the girls finishing school. Your grandchildren look gorgeous - I loved looking at the pictures and the one of your Mum! She still looks so glamourous. Congratulations to Cindy on the birth of her beautiful baby boy. We just had some family photos done by a friend and he is going to put them on a website soon so will send you a link.
Lots of love to you dear friend
Susan
PS I went home to the UK this year and drove past your old house in Holly Bank Lane. It was weird. You know that feeling when you wonder if you have dreamt the time or really lived through it! It brought back so many memories of the past. I started remembering going on the boat with your Mum and Dad and getting stuck on a sandbar. Your Dad had to get under the boat to move it off - do you remember?
Oh Susan, I do! I do! I remember it all! Every memory is a truly fond and treasured one. I sure miss you and love you tons! Someday I am going to get to New Zealand to see you and your family. I promise! I am glad you had a great birthday, and that you visited my blog. Please check in here frequently. I love technology - hopefully we can stay in better touch now!
Hi, I came through your blog via Kaylee’s. How wonderful that you found a real enjoyment - I think sewing is fantastic *except I cannot follow a pattern (tried it once w/ the assistance of my sister- and no, not for me, too confusing - like reading another language). I made my husband buy me a sewing machine for making small repairs and he teases me because I never use it, it’s collecting dust in the basement. I gotta get it out and give her a try again, sounds like fun!
Hi Lumpy. Thank you for visiting my blog. Don’t be discouraged about not being able to follow a pattern. Some patterns are just hard to follow and some are actually wrong. I’ve known incredible seamstresses to find mistakes in some of the patterns that you can buy, and they learn to work around it. Don’t despair. Perhaps try something like quilting too. That can also be very enjoyable. Hope you come back to visit soon.
I love the whole, “pursuit of a positive attitude”.. I need to pursue that as well!
