This is either excruitiatingly painful to watch or absolutely hilarious.

And from an editor’s perspective, this is just plain fun as well as funny:

    that poor girl. this will haunt her for many years. however, you would think someone in a beauty pageant would be a little more articulate. not necessarily super smart, but comfortable speaking in public.

    as someone once said to a girl i knew, “it’s a good thing you’re cute, cuz you sure are dumb.” she took it as a compliment. sigh.

    Oh dear!!
    I don’t agree with one point in Jimmy Kimmel’s comments, though. US Americans is more accurate than Americans – America is a continent after all, which includes so much more than the US. 😉

    Technically, Isabelle, you are right, but when you are an American (typically refers to someone living in the United States)as was Miss South Carolina speaking about Americans, adding the U.S. to it is redundant. So, considering the usage, I’d agree with Kimmel. Usually if talking about South Americans, that’s what you say. Or Canadians or Mexicans.
