Putting it all in perspective

January 22, 2008

My oldest daughter found this blog and told me about it today. It’s written by a man who has a wife with cystic fibrosis. The wife was going to get a lung transplant but then they found out she was pregnant. The baby, Gwyneth Rose, was born prematurely and both mom and baby are in the hospital still, surviving.

What a miracle to see. It really makes everything else irrelevant when you see life boiled down to the simplest things, like taking a breath. I haven’t had time to read the whole blog in detail, but what I did read was awesome. It helps one realize that the trivial things we worry or argue about are inconsequential. (Yes, everything is relative, and for each of us in our little worlds, we may not have a premature infant, but our concerns are just as valid. I acknowledge that.)

Life is what really matters, and the relationships you have with your friends and loved ones that count.

Be prepared to cry when you read this blog.
